Sony has announced the WF-C700N after several detailed leaks. According to the manufacturer, the WF-C700N is more comfortable and better fitting for most ears than the WF-C500, thanks to a 37% lighter housing and a 38% smaller housing. Also, the WF-C700N has IPX4 water resistance.

Additionally, the WF-C700N features ANC with an accompanying transparency mode and Bluetooth Multipoint for connecting to two devices simultaneously. However, Sony notes that the latter will only be available this summer after it releases a firmware update enabling the feature. Also, the WF-C700N has 5 mm drivers, DSSE upscaling and should last up to 7:30 hours with ANC activated or 15 hours with its bundled charging case factored in.

For reference, the WF-C700N only supports AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs, with no LDAC integration on offer. Regardless, the WF-C700N is pre-orderable now in multiple markets. Sony charges US$118 for the earbuds in the US and €129.99 in the Eurozone. The WF-C700N will start shipping in the US from April 15, although release dates may vary in other markets.
