Whether you're after a wired, wireless or portable one, we've got you covered.
If you've picked up a new iPhone within the past few years, you're sure to have noticed that it comes with a USB-C-to-Lightning cable that isn't compatible with your existing charger. We know, it's probably down there at the bottom of the box still.
That cable is worth digging out once you've got the right wall plug, though, because you'll be able to refuel your phone far more quickly. Trust us, it makes a massive difference. That old 5W brick that you've relied on since your iPhone 6 takes forever, and things don't have to stay that way. It's time to upgrade to a fast iPhone charger, and we're here to help find the best one for you.

We know that the world of charging can be a bit of a minefield and it can feel like there are loads of specs to sift through. So, we've done the hard work for you and collected the best iPhone chargers in our roundup below.
We've picked our favourite wall adapters, cables, power banks and wireless chargers. And, where possible, we've selected ones capable of those fast charging speeds. If you've been used to waiting hours for a recharge, you're about to see your phone gain back half of its battery in under half an hour.
We tried out the best iPhone chargers by refuelling our devices – including an iPhone SE, XR and 13 mini – and timing how long they took while evaluating specs, design and convenience. There's a lot on the market and we wouldn't go with the cheapest no-name cable and charger manufacturers for safety reasons (more on that below), so we focused on trusted brands for our picks. The below recommendations are a combination of our hands-on testing and expert research.
Here are our best iPhone charger picks at a glance:
Apple first introduced fast charging in 2017 with the iPhone 8 (although what we call fast speeds on iPhones would be considered slow compared to some Android models). The fastest chargers for iPhones use USB-C connectors, as we'll explain below, and the key thing you want to look for is "PD" (which stands for Power Delivery). It's a high power specification that makes charging faster when using a USB-C cable.
In our experience, the fastest you can get the iPhone models we tested back to 50% full is within 25 minutes, give or take a few seconds. If you turn on Airplane Mode and leave the phone alone, it should be able to get half full in under 20 minutes.
The reason that we test up to 50% is that iPhones charge at full speed until around 70-80% and then slow down on the way to 100%. This is known as "trickle charging" and it plays an important role in helping your battery last longer.
Charging speed: 20W USB-C | Ports: 1x USB-C | Dimensions: 4.76 x 4.14 x 2.08 cm (not including prongs) | Weight: 47.44g
If there's one low-cost upgrade you can make to get your iPhone charging faster, it's to dig out your USB-C-to-Lightning cable and toss Anker's sub-£17 Nano charger in your basket. We like to keep our charging tech as compact as possible and this one is mini, powerful and reliable, delivering the quick speeds you need – on test, we got our iPhone 13 mini up to 50% battery in exactly 25 minutes.
We also like Anker's newer 511 Nano Pro which comes in more colours (including blue, lilac and pink) and has the same baseline specs in addition to some improved temperature monitoring for safety. It's £2 more and, in our experience, virtually identical to the original. Like many of our charger picks here, the 511 doesn't come with a cable, so you'll either need to find the one in your iPhone box or add one of our cable recommendations below.
Available at Amazon and Anker
Charging speed: 20W USB-C | Ports: 1x USB-C | Dimensions: 5 x 4.7 x 3 cm (not including prongs) | Weight: 86g
If you'd prefer to play it safe and go with Apple itself rather than a third party, go with the brand's own 20W USB-C wall plug. This is the one that really should come with the phone itself and we love how the prongs fold down to make it more compact for travel. Like the Anker, it'll deliver fast PD speeds over a USB-C cable, charging most iPhones to 50% in under half an hour.
As with most Apple products, it comes at a cost with a standard price of £19, but when on offer on Amazon or John Lewis it can be as low as £15 (making it a better deal than the model above).
Available at Amazon, John Lewis and Apple
Charging speed: 65W USB-C | Ports: 2x USB-C | Dimensions: 5.67 x 4.89 x 5.52 cm (not including prongs) | Weight: 145g
If you need to charge two devices at the same time, we reckon a dual port charger is a better and more convenient option than two separate wall adapters. We travel with the 726 and we've used it to charge our MacBook Pro or iPad Air at the same time as our iPhone – it's always reliable and about half the size of the MacBook Pro's included 61W charger.
You can get a 65W max speed when just using one port, and when plugged into both, the top one can output 20W, while the bottom can output 45W. That means you can charge an iPhone and an iPad at top speed from one tiny package that's great for stashing in your bag. With only one port, we refuelled our iPhone XR to 50% in an impressive 24 minutes and 30 seconds.
Charging speed: 20W USB-C | Ports: 1x USB-C | Dimensions: 5 x 5 x 2.7 cm (not including prongs) | Weight: 83g
There isn't a world of difference between our Anker top pick, the Apple model above and this UGREEN one, given that they all deliver PD charging speeds. Which one you choose may well come down to the price and the design you prefer – this one has a similar form factor and weight to Apple's, just without the fold-down prongs. At only £11.99 on its own, this is one of the best cheap iPhone chargers, around and the one we've linked to comes bundled with our best budget cable too.
Available at Amazon
Lengths: 1m or 2m | Colours: White, Black, Yellow, Pink, Grey, Purple, Green and Blue
We know what you're thinking, aren't all USB-C cables the same? Sadly, they're not. The market is full of dodgy off-brand ones that will stop working or break before too long. Yes, the Apple official cable is what comes in the box, but we've seen a few too many frayed ones to give it our top recommendation. Anker's "Flow" range is what you'll find on our bedside table because it's soft yet resilient, comes in loads of colours, won't tangle, and claims to withstand 25,000 bends.
Available at Amazon and Anker
Lengths: 1m or 2m | Colour: White
Just after a budget cable? The Anker option above starts from £16 while Apple's own one is £19, and we can understand how it might be hard to justify that kind of price for a cable you'd expect to have already. If you lost the one that came with your phone and you're after a cheap and reliable replacement, the UGREEN version comes in either 1m cable for only £11 or a 2m variant for £13. Much more affordable.
Available at Amazon
Cable length: 1m | Charging speed: 15W wireless for iPhone 12 and 13 models, 12W for 12 and 13 mini | Dimensions: 0.83 x 7.23 x 7.23 cm | Weight: 39g
Let's be honest, we're all guilty of scrolling through TikTok or Twitter from our bed even if we know we should probably stop using our phones before sleeping. Apple's magnetic MagSafe puck makes your phone a bit more comfortable to hold during your pre-sleep TikTok session by attaching to the back without a cord jutting out at the bottom, and it's just as good for using in bed as it is for when you're sitting on the sofa.
It delivers a faster speed than non-Apple wireless chargers can, going up to 15W rather than just 7.5W. The only thing is that Apple's 1m cable is a bit stingy, we paired ours with this UGREEN USB-C extension and it's now the perfect length.
Available at Amazon, Currys and Apple
Cable length: Comes with a USB-C-to-Lightning charging cable | Charging speed: Add a USB-C power adapter (at least 27W) to get 14W maximum wireless charging for iPhones (it doesn't support fast charging for an Apple Watch) | Dimensions: 18 x 9.3 x 2.7 cm | Weight: 290g
If you're looking for a charger that works for both your iPhone and Apple Watch, Apple's MagSafe Duo is worth considering. Your iPhone can snap into place and it'll deliver 14W MagSafe speeds to restore it to full power, and it has a separate spot for your Apple Watch too. One of the best things about it is that it folds down into a slim package that's portable and compact.
It's not without a few downsides, though. It's very expensive, doesn't support fast charging for Apple Watch Series 7 and doesn't come with an adapter so you'll have to get your own (Apple recommends at least a 27W wall plug). If you love the sound of this, whether that's for travel or your bedside, there isn't anything quite the same and we'd recommend avoiding any knock-offs that aren't MFI-certified.
Available at Amazon, Currys and Apple
Charging speed: 7.5W wireless from the main pad, 5W wireless from the secondary pad | Dimensions: 6.32 x 6.32 x 7.88 cm | Weight: 399g
The ideal iPhone charger for your desk, this can-shaped wireless model is hefty like a paperweight and can charge your iPhone 12 or 13 with its magnetic surface. It has a separate second charging pad under its hinge, perfect for a wireless refuelling of your AirPods or AirPods Pro. It comes in purple, blue, grey or white and includes the wall adapter and USB-C cable that you'd need to get it working. Coincidently, that included 20W plug works as a fast iPhone charger with the right cable.
Available at Amazon and Anker
Charging speed: 20W USB-C, 18W USB-A, 7.5W wireless | Dimensions: 10.7 x 6.65 x 1.81 cm | Weight: 217.72g | Capacity: 10,000mAh | Ports: Wireless magnetic charging, USB-A (output) and USB-C (input and output)
This recent release from Anker is our new favourite power bank, with the fewest number of compromises on the market. It's lightweight and small compared to others with its 10K capacity (enough for two or three recharges of our iPhone 13 mini).
It has super strong magnetic wireless charging for the newest iPhone models, a built-in kickstand, a USB-A port for older devices, and fast PD speeds via a USB-C-to-Lightning cable. When using the cable, it charged our 13 mini to half full in exactly 25 minutes. Other than it being a little pricey, we'd struggle to come up with anything negative about this charger.
Available at Amazon
Charging speed: 12W USB-C, 7.5W wireless | Dimensions: 10.5 x 6.65 x 1.27 cm | Weight: 141.75g | Capacity: 5,000mAh | Ports: Wireless magnetic charging and USB-C (input and output)
One of the most convenient magnetic power packs for most people, this dinky Anker gadget has a decent capacity for an extra top-up of your iPhone (it isn't quite enough to fully recharge most models). From the magnetic pad, it provides up to 7.5W of maximum power, which is standard for third-party devices that don't get Apple's fastest official MagSafe speeds.
It also has a fold-out stand so you can use it to watch videos at your desk while it charges up. And, for those times when you'd rather use a cable, you can hook one up to the USB-C port for decent (albeit not quite PD) charging rates. Overall, we reckon it's a pretty good value option at £49.99 and compact enough to slip in your pocket or bag for some extra power in a pinch.
Available at Amazon and Anker
There are a couple of things you'll need to decide before you buy a new charger or cable, and we've run through the main considerations below:
USB-A vs USB-C: Without getting too lost in the specs, it's fair to say USB-C is a massive upgrade on USB-A. The Type-C connecter has been around since 2014 and the key things you need to know are that it's capable of faster data transfers and can push more power to devices. Tablets, laptops, headphones and more charge via USB-C cables and, currently, a Lightning-to-USB-C cable is essential for iPhone fast charging – at least until Apple puts a USB-C connector on the iPhone itself, that is.
MFI Certification: MFI stands for "Made For iPhone/iPad/iPod" and it's a rigorous set of tests that all third-party or licensed chargers, cables, adapters and other accessories must go through to be verified by Apple. We wouldn't recommend buying anything without an MFI symbol, as you can't guarantee these are safe to use.
Wattage: Wattage is an important metric of the amount of power that can flow from your charger to your phone. Expect tablet and laptop chargers to have higher wattage to fill their bigger batteries, at least 30W or more. It's worth noting that charging is controlled by the phone, not by the charger, so even when connected to a high-wattage wall plug, the phone will only draw what it needs. Look for at least 18W from a single charging port for what Apple refers to as fast charging – we've also included a dual-port option in our list – ideal for charging a laptop and phone at the same time.
Weight: This might matter more with power banks but you also don't want your wall plug to weigh you down, especially if you're travelling with it and don't have loads of space in your bag. We've noted the weights of all the models in our roundup below.
